Player
welfare

Our company wouldn't be where it is today had we not incorporated principles of fair play and responsible gaming into our ethos from the very beginning.

Over the years Microgaming has spearheaded a number of pioneering, safer betting practices and developed a range of industry-wide responsible gambling platform tools for operators to support player welfare:

Deposit limits – Helps players budget their spending.

Loss limits – Lets players set a limit on the amount they are willing to lose during a session.

Session limits – Empower players to proactively determine the duration of their gaming session by allowing them to set personalised time limits.

Session reminders – Helps players keep track of the time they are spending in a session.

Take a break – Enables players to take a break from betting, for a period ranging from 24 hours to six weeks. Throughout this duration, players are unable to log in for betting or gaming activities.

Self-exclusion – For players seeking to exercise control over their gambling habits, self-exclusion represents a proactive measure to exclude themselves from play.

Further emphasising our commitment to responsible and safer play, we support and work closely with various organisations in their mission to treat, minimise and prevent gambling-related harm.

Through our longstanding Microgaming PlayItForward programme we have supported and worked closely with 10 national and international responsible gambling charities since 2020, including the likes of Anonymind, Betknowmore UK, GamCare, Gordon Moody Association, Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) and Motiv8 Isle of Man.

In the last four years alone, we have helped fund a wide range of projects including:

  • A four-week social media campaign to help promote the GamCare National Gambling Helpline

  • A year-long peer-led group therapy trial for women

  • Motiv8 Isle of Man’s ‘YP Motiv8’ programme; a free support service aimed at young people

  • Safer Schools Digital Resilience packs for every school across the Isle of Man.
