ISLE OF MAN – MPN regular Mateusz Moolhuizen from the Netherlands has claimed his second Universal Championship of Poker (UCOP) victory, having secured the top spot on the UCOP Passport leaderboard.
These past few months have been full of achievements for the 29-year-old Betsson Poker player. In addition to his victory in the MPN’s flagship UCOP tournament series last September, Moolhuizen was crowned the Greatest Poker Player in the Universe in 2018!
Having amassed 1202.294 points, taking him to first place on the UCOP Passport leaderboard, the Dutch player will receive three incredible MPN Poker Tour (MPNPT) packages worth €4,500, plus a €550 Online Tournament tickets package. Moolhuizen has the opportunity to travel to all of the remaining MPNPT live poker events in 2019, taking place in some of the most stunning European cities. The player will receive entry into the main event and one side event, accommodation, plus cash towards travel expenses.
On the first day of the series, Moolhuizen won the UCOP Passport Event #2, which secured his place within the top five positions of the leaderboard. On Sunday 3 February, he won the €110 UCOP Passport Event #26, which catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard.
The popular series, which ran from 13 January to 10 February 2019, featured 112 thrilling events, guaranteed over €500,000 and awarded €10,000 worth of prizes through the UCOP Passport leaderboard. Winners of any UCOP Passport event also qualified for the Tournament of Champions on 17 February 2019, which was won by RedStar player ‘Mipha’, who was awarded with an MPNPT package worth €1,500. This year’s inaugural UCOP Passport Main Event included a field of 503 entries. Satellites ran every day during the series, awarding 93 seats to the Main Event, worth €10,230. The winner of the €320 UCOP Passport High Roller event, ‘RaisingHell’, won €8,900 from a €33 satellite.
The MPN brings back the popular UCOP tournament series through the introduction of UCOP Vegas, which runs from 14-28 April 2019, and will guarantee €500,000. The series will also include the UCOP Vegas leaderboard, awarding €20,000 worth of prizes across all UCOP Vegas events. The player claiming the top spot will experience the trip of a lifetime, as they take home an exclusive Las Vegas experience for two worth €7,500, plus a €2,500 Online Tournament tickets package.
Qualification for the UCOP Vegas series is scheduled to start on 8 April 2019 and will run 24 hours a day on all participating MPN poker rooms.
