We supply award-winning online gaming software to the leading operators worldwide.
Microgaming developed the world’s first true online casino software in 1994 and the first mobile casino software in 2004. Our products include Casino, Poker, Bingo, Sportsbook, Land-based, Live Dealer and Quickfire. Home to Avalon, Thunderstruck, Dragonz and other epic games, not to mention branded blockerbusters such as Jurassic World™, Game of Thrones™ and Playboy™ Gold, we launch new titles every month across desktop and mobile.
Did you know?
Our progressive jackpot network is the largest in the world, having paid out more than €848 million to date. In 2015, it set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the ‘Largest jackpot payout in an online slot machine game’ when a Betway UK player won the GBP equivalent of €17,879,645.12 from a 25p spin!
But numbers don’t define us. We genuinely care about the game, our operators and their players. As a founding member of eCOGRA (e-Commerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance), we set the standard in fair, responsible gaming. And for all our success, we always find time to give back to our local community, tackling important issues in areas such as health, sport and education through our CSR initiative, Microgaming PlayItForward.
Situated on the Isle of Man within walking distance of Douglas Promenade, Sixty Two is our towering headquarters that officially opened on 31 July 2017.
The ultramodern five-storey building, whose unique design mirrors our commitment to innovation and is one of the first on the Isle of Man to achieve the BREEAM rating of Excellent, is linked to Twenty Six (previously MGS House, our former HQ) via the Sky Bridge. We share this extraordinary campus, which features a fully equipped gym, treatment room, social area, canteen, coffee shop, library and roof garden, not to mention 16 meeting rooms and even a periscope, with independent software and technical specialists, Derivco Isle of Man.
You can find us at 54°08'57.8538"N 4°29'14.1"W (54.149404, -4.487250) on a beautiful island in the middle of the Irish Sea.
Ordinarily a place of tranquillity, the Isle of Man comes alive to the sights, sounds and smells of superbikes for two weeks a year during the world-renowned TT Races. The spectacle of flat-out, full-throttle racing is matched only by the breathtaking scenery of the island. Beauty spots include the Calf of Man, Maughold Head and Ballaugh Curragh. Panoramic views can be enjoyed from Niarbyl Bay, Peel Beach and Port Erin. And England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland can be spied from atop Snaefell on the clearest of days.
Far more than a set of coordinates, area of outstanding natural beauty or motorcycling mecca, the Isle of Man is our home.
Behind every great development is a team of experts, artists and visionaries. Meet the leaders whose experience at the top is paving the way for innovation.
Roger qualified as a chartered accountant in South Africa following his graduation from university with majors in marketing and economics. Instrumental in establishing Microgaming’s headquarters on the Isle of Man in 2001, he occupied senior positions in franchising and merchant banking before joining us at the helm. Currently the longest-serving CEO in the online gaming industry, Roger presides over a global talent pool of more than 2,000 people.
An accomplished water polo, squash and rugby player in his youth, and now a keen cyclist and triathlete, Roger won bronze for the Isle of Man at the 2013 Island Games in Bermuda.
Joining us as finance director in 2004, some years after qualifying as a chartered accountant and a year before completing his LLB, John has been broadly responsible for the general running of Microgaming ever since.
A keen sportsman, the Irelander has won the Manx Historic Rally on two occasions as a co-driver, completed the New York Marathon, and cycled for pleasure and position as a member of Manx Viking Wheelers.
Far more than an expert in law and finance, not to mention sport, John is an indispensable member of the senior management team whose insight imbues every limb of the company.
Director of Corporate Affairs
In 1987, Chris graduated from the University of Natal with bachelor’s degrees in commerce and chemistry. After working for a major chemical manufacturer and distributor in South Africa, he entered the volatile world of corporate and merchant banking, excelling in managerial roles both at home and away before joining us as an account manager in 2005.
Chris now uses his unmistakable stature, keen business brain and uncompromising work ethic to run our corporate affairs, ensuring compliance with applicable jurisdictional laws, establishing probity policies and representing our interests on the boards of various industry bodies.
He may be our enforcer of sorts, but he has a softer side too. Allegedly.
Director of Quickfire
Before joining Microgaming in 2009, Andrew served in the Royal Air Force for the best part of two decades. He was awarded an MBE in 2005 and received a promotion to wing commander that same year. In 2006, Andrew became an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, having qualified in 2002.
A proud family man with two children, Andrew worked his way up through the ranks at Microgaming, overseeing multiple departments to develop and deliver our product in markets worldwide. Andrew has presided over our Quickfire business unit since a strategic refocus in September 2016.
Director of Network Games
Jean-Luc’s facility for converting concepts into results ensured his rapid progress at Derivco in South Africa, where he was initially employed in operations. Leaving the company as head of technical management after nine years, he became our product deployment manager in 2008. Within four years he had been promoted to head of service and delivery, working side by side with our customers to ensure the success of our product in markets throughout the world.
Employing his unique problem-solving and people-management skills, not to mention his vast industry and commercial knowledge, Jean-Luc now directs our network games.
Director of Marketing and Sales
After graduating from university with first-class honours in marketing management, Janine enjoyed successful spells at Boots, Nationwide, BD Network and Orange before heading our marketing, events and PR in 2008, the year in which she was listed among the UK’s top 100 Rising Stars by Marketing Week.
Central to every event, promotion and brand development at Microgaming, and the brains behind our sales, social media, public relations, and thought leadership campaigns, Janine makes making us look good look easy.
Director of HR
Heading up our human resources team, Leila oversees the selection, recruitment, training, development, remuneration and deployment of all Microgaming employees. She works at the heart of the company, formulating policy, managing change and looking after each and every one of us.
Leila is REC and CIPD certified, holds a bachelor’s degree in business studies and sits on the Isle of Man Employment and Training Committee. A true people person, she has completed four marathons in aid of charity.
Director of Sportsbook
Stephen brought a wealth of industry experience to our team when he joined us in October 2016. Having held several directorship roles at PokerStars, where he spent over seven years in charge of security, payments and operations, overseeing more than 900 members of staff, the American took a new direction at parent company Rational Group in 2013. In his role there as managing director of Sportsbook, Stephen assumed responsibility for the overall operation of the BetStars brand.
With two young children to his name, Stephen finds little time for extracurricular activities, but he enjoys playing football or golf when the opportunity arises.
Our culture is our personality. We keep it strong and moving forward through the Culture Ambassadors programme, an internal initiative with external reach that gives our business the structure to identify, nurture and celebrate its greatest asset: our people.
