We’re looking for a Data Analyst with at least three years’ experience to assist, and report to, the senior management team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with expert analytical skills and the ability to communicate ideas and findings. You should have a degree in an area such as statistics, mathematics or economics, along with a knowledge of extracting and manipulating data from SQL-based databases would be desirable.

The role provides analysis of relevant market data to deliver insights on trends and anomalies and to assist with business forecasting models. Accurate interpretation and communication is critical, as insights from the analysis will be used in both short and long-term decision making and planning.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide routine statistical summaries with commentary and analytical insight
  • Perform ad hoc statistical analysis, data modelling and data mining, as well as what-if and scenario-planning models when required
  • Present findings from analysis to stakeholders and summarise statistics into meaningful business information
  • Analyse, summarise and provide analytical insight on the published statistics of competitors
  • Partner with the operational personnel of the business to determine and develop their analytic and/or reporting requirements
  • Partner with the Reports Developer to design effective and useful reports and summaries for routine distribution

Key requirements

  • A degree in an area such as statistics, mathematics or economics
  • Alternative equivalent qualifications with training in quantitative/analytic methodology and application may be acceptable

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a global workforce of data scientists, analysts, report writers and database administrators
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership, aligned with the business strategy, to standardise how data is sourced, integrated and consumed across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the areas of data warehouse/business intelligence and information technology to source and organise data
  • Create and effectively execute an information strategy that supports and aligns with the business objectives and initiatives

Key requirements

  • Preferably educated to postgraduate level, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, information management, data analysis or a similar field
  • 10+ years’ experience leading teams in an analytics or management consulting environment
